About The Department

The Department of Sanskrit has been there in the college since its very inception. Mrs. Indira Sinha from Tripura joined as the founder teacher in the Department. Later on, Miss. L . Rajammal from Kerela joined in the Department as the second lecturer. Both the teachers rendered a great service by their valuable teaching activities in the Sanskrit Department. After the retirement of Mrs. Indira Sinha, Dr. Dipa Rani Goswami joined the Department in 1995, L. Rajammal retired and Dr . Sanatan Kalita joined the Department. At present both Dr. Dipa Rani Goswami and Dr. Sanatan Kalita have been rendering their service in the department till this date and at present Dr. Dipa Rani Goswami is acting as the Head of the Department.

Vision of the Department

The vision of the Department is to impart knowledge of the Sanskrit language to the students and to acquaint them the knowledge of the ancient Indian literature.
